Calculating Required Minimum Distributions (using the Final Regulations published on 4/17/02 in Treasury Decision 8987) for plan owners who are alive after 2001*

In general, the distribution calculations are based only on the owner's age and the fund balance at the end of the previous year. If there is a spousal beneficiary, the spouse's age may be important as well.

**As per H.R. 7327, the "Worker, Retiree, and Employer Recovery Act of 2008," there are no RMDs for 2009.
